Abstract
In many hospitals, it is common to use semiclosed circle system for general anesthesia, although it has economy, easy controllability of humidity and temperature etc. Semi-colsed circle system always needs caution to use, because in case of
malfunction
of undirectional valve, inappropriate absorption of carbon dioxide, leakage or obstruction of circle system, the patient may become fatal.
We experienced hypercarbia during general anesthesia with Dameca(r) anesthetic apparatus(model 10750) bacause of teared expiratory silastic valve which it is located in the metalic valve case with hidden status.
